Theoretical Basis Of X-ray Fluorescence Analyzer

Fluorescence, as its name implies, is the light emitted by light. X-ray fluorescence is the X-ray emitted by an X-ray, which contains information about the chemical composition of the sample, and the X-ray fluorescence Analyzer is used to determine the content of each component in the measured sample by analyzing the X-ray fluorescence.

From the knowledge of atomic physics, we know that for each atom of chemical element, there is a specific energy level structure, and its nuclear electrons are running on their own fixed orbits with their unique energies, and the inner electrons are in sufficient energy X-ray fluorescence analysis

When x-rays are exposed as free electrons from atoms, we say atoms are excited and excited, and other outer electrons fill the void, the so-called jump, and emit energy in the form of X-rays. Since the atomic structure of each element is specific, the energy of the x-rays emitted during the jump is also specific, called the characteristic X-ray. By measuring the energy of the characteristic x-rays, it is possible to determine the presence of the corresponding element, and the strength of the characteristic x-rays (or the number of X-rays photons) represents the content of the element.

The knowledge of quantum mechanics tells us that X-rays have a wave-particle duality, which can be regarded as both a particle and an electromagnetic wave. There are one by one correspondence between the energy of a particle and the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave. This is the famous Planck formula: E=hc/λ. Obviously, whether the measurement of energy, or wavelength, can achieve the corresponding elements of the analysis, the effect is exactly the same.
